Buitenlandse delegaties bezoeken CfPB

De afgelopen maanden hebben delegaties uit verschillende landen het CfPB bezocht.

Deense rijksgebouwendienst

Uit Denemarken kregen we bezoek van SES, de Deense rijksgebouwendienst en van het Alexandra instituut, een kennisinstituut dat onderzoek doet naar ICT en innovatie binnen de overheidssector. We bezochten een aantal Nederlandse organisaties die op uiteenlopende wijzen bezig zijn hun huisvesting onderdeel te maken van een geïntegreerde bedrijfsvoering. We bezochten het Beatrixpark in Den Haag en in Amsterdam de Breitnertoren van Philips, het nieuwe hoofdkantoor van Atradius en het kantoor van het Financieel Dagblad. Het bezoek werd afgesloten met een presentatie over de werkzaamheden en onderzoeksresultaten van het CfPB.

Maria Alzaga van SES schrijft:

“Our visit in Holland turned out to be very inspiring and fruitful - and our discussions with you gave us a lot of new insights to reflect upon. These will definitely be used in our further work."

“It is always interesting to remark, just how culture- and context-specific the concerns of researchers, public and users are, when it comes to office layout. The Danish concerns with noise, carpets, egalitarian office layout etc are not "natural" concerns that self-evidently spring from people working in modern office environments. But on the contrary they are a product of the specific Danish cultural and historical background, the Danish development within office design and the specific researchers who work in DK”.

"- Productivity, however, does seem to be a cross-cultural focus of attention. But perhaps the focus on productivity is not as surprising as Wim Pullen puts it, as this is embedded in a globally accepted paradigm of profit-driven capitalism. When we in the Danish State focus on the ability to attract and maintain employees, on their well-being etc it is with the aim of - in the end - creating better numbers on the bottom line (through less investment in new personnel, through less sick-leave, through more engagement and effectivity from the individual employee)  and thus create a competitive advantage of the public sector."

NOPA tour group Japan

Heel anders vergaat het ons als we een groep Japanners op bezoek krijgen en hen meenemen naar diverse gebouwen waaronder de Kamer van Koophandel en het Unilever kantoor de Brug in Rotterdam. Ondanks dat CfPB’s Pieter le Roux Japans spreekt verloopt alle communicatie via een tolk en is de terugkoppeling beleefd.

Akihiro Kishimoto schrijft:

"I just received a quick note from a member of the NOPA tour group now back in Tokyo.  All members were quite satisfied with their visits and appreciated your coordination and hospitality. They were interested in CFPB's research work, too. On behalf of the group, I thank you and your team very much."

Verrassend was dat na enige weken we benaderd zijn door een aantal Japanse kantoormeubelfabrikanten voor verdere contacten. Een van hen heeft het voornemen om het boek Kosten en Baten van werkplekinnovatie van Theo van der Voordt in het Japans te vertalen.

TEKES Finland

Tot slot waren er twee Finse delegaties - een grote delegatie van TEKES (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation) die in het kader van hun onderzoek Spaces and Places met het CfPB spraken over living labs- en een eenpersoonsdelegatie van de Helsinki University of Technology. Dr. Suvi Nenonen zoekt samenwerking bij onderzoek naar de voorkeuren (Preferences) van eindgebruikers. Dat bezoek heeft tot gevolg dat nu wordt nagegaan hoe het CfPB zijn kennis en ervaringen bij de Werkpleinen (SoZaWe Rotterdam) en de kennis uit het langlopende WODI onderzoek in Finland kan delen.

Een plezierige terugkoppeling van de grote Finse delegatie ging over de heldere rol van het CfPB in het veld van mens, werk en werkomgeving. Delegatielid Olli Niemi stuurde ons een bericht :

“The visit to Philips Innohub was good, Mediapark in Hilversum also. But the most interesting part of the visit was your center. I have just decided to work in Tampere university of technology one day in a week and I have thought, what is my future vision. One could be, that we together with Helsinki University could develop a center, which will focus partly in similar matters : people and spaces and places ( real + virtual)."
