Towards improving energy-efficiency in office buildings - Case study on the effects of technical optimization and augmented user-sophistication

Purpose

The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of varied predefined measures and scenario developments in ensuring greater energy-efficiency of existing office buildings. Given the primarily technical nature of these packages, the effects of user-involvment were introduced as an additional theme.

Findings

Results from a comparative analyses indicate the extend to which (1) technical measures, (2) augmented user-sophistication and (3) the combination of these measures contribute to improved energy-efficiency in existing office buildings.
